Job Description
The Project Finance Valuation Analyst at New Leaf Energy will develop financial models to analyze and maximize the valuations of renewable energy projects, collaborating with various teams throughout the project development process. This role involves assessing market dynamics, managing relationships with consultants, and contributing to strategic decision-making in clean energy development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze financial models to evaluate project valuations and profitability.
- Research wholesale energy prices and translate market data into price forecasting.
- Serve as the relationship manager with third-party price forecasting consultants.
- Analyze financial models and customer feedback to communicate insights on valuation drivers.
- Coordinate with policy business development teams on community solar program developments.
- Support strategic project development decision making based on project cash flows.
- Drive the development and adoption of new tools for project development efficiency.
- Engage with customers to educate on revenue cost structures and negotiate prices.
- Collaborate with design engineering on design optimization for project economics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field
- Master's Degree in relevant field or MBA preferred
- 3 to 5 years experience with the United States energy industry, ideally in renewable energy
- Project finance modeling and power markets analysis experience
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel required
- VBA experience preferred
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced business environment
- Knowledge of energy or renewable energy development and finance
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Ability to analyze financial models and understand the impact of various key drivers
- Technology-oriented
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
