Job Description

The Contracts Specialist at New Leaf Energy manages the execution, negotiation, and administration of contracts for clean energy projects, primarily focusing on power plant development, supply agreements, and vendor management, supporting the company's transition to renewable energy asset ownership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the drafting, negotiation, and management of EPC, O&M, supply, and purchase agreements and amendments
  • Coordinate the execution of project contracts, including review and approval of exhibits and attachments
  • Evaluate contractor and supplier proposals, conduct bid comparisons, and review commercial terms
  • Ensure scopes of work are clearly defined and aligned with technical requirements
  • Manage vendor compliance with insurance and other contractual requirements
  • Maintain proper documentation and recordkeeping throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support the management and monitoring of project contracts, financing documents, and compliance requirements
  • Assist in change order review, claims management, and dispute resolution
  • Identify and escalate potential contractual and commercial risks
  • Develop and improve standard contracting templates, checklists, and materials

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • At least three years of prior experience in renewable energy EPC contracting, project development, equipment supply, or construction contract administration
  • Understanding of EPC contract forms, structures, and terms
  • Understanding of solar module and battery energy storage system supply agreements and long-term service agreements
  • Proven stakeholder management, communication, and organization skills
  • Familiarity with structured finance requirements and lender diligence processes is a plus
  • Legal training or experience working alongside legal teams is a plus

  • Competitive base salary ranging from 104,470 to 119,760 in Boston, with geographic adjustments for other locations
  • On-target annual cash bonus of approximately 10% of base salary
