Job Description
The Vice President of IT at Metergy Solutions Inc. is responsible for leading the company's technology operations, including system delivery, modernization, automation, infrastructure management, and ensuring secure and reliable IT services to support business growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and operations of core IT systems, architecture, and support for daily technology functions.
- Modernize, automate, and standardize technologies to improve efficiency and adopt industry-leading tools and platforms.
- Manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure to ensure stability, security, and sustainability.
- Build and oversee the automation team to enhance the speed and quality of IT service delivery.
- Ensure consistent and reliable IT service levels across all supported areas, including desktop support and critical business functions.
Requirements
- Experience leading and managing a technology team responsible for the delivery and operations of core systems, architecture, and day-to-day technology operations in North America.
- Proven ability to modernize, automate, and standardize technologies, ensuring the organization adopts and leverages the latest industry-leading tools and platforms.
- Experience managing both on-premises and cloud infrastructure to ensure stability, security, and sustainability of technology systems.
- Ability to build and lead an automation team to improve time to market for IT service delivery.
- Experience managing service levels across all IT-supported areas, including desktop support and other critical elements of the business that depend on consistent and reliable IT service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in planning and executing technology investments to gain economies of scale and efficiencies in a growth-oriented company.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure security and sustainability best practices.
- Experience in supporting and supporting the evolution of core business systems and architecture to meet organizational needs.
- Ability to develop and implement strategies for technology modernization, automation, and standardization.
- Experience in managing and supporting a large-scale operation with over 900,000 contracted meters and issuing over 4 million utility bills annually is preferred but not mandatory; the requirement is for experience managing large-scale utility or infrastructure technology operations.
- Educational background or equivalent experience in information technology, computer science, or related fields.
- Ability to manage and support critical IT elements such as desktop support and infrastructure to ensure reliable service delivery.
- Experience in working within or supporting a SaaS environment and familiarity with industry standards for service level management.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to lead a pivotal role within the executive leadership team.
