Job Description
A Regional Asset Manager overseeing a large portfolio of solar sites, responsible for maintenance, safety, budgets, and stakeholder relationships, with a hands-on approach to site management and problem-solving in the solar energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a large portfolio of solar sites, overseeing maintenance, remediations, and safety.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure project and operational goals are met.
- Conduct site visits, walk the sites, and perform hands-on troubleshooting when necessary.
- Review and assess preventive maintenance reports and field data for accuracy and quality.
- Manage budgets and track performance metrics to drive operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain relationships with tenants, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies across all sites.
Requirements
- Knowledge of what a megger test is and how to read it.
- Experience turning a wrench, tracing a ground fault in the field, and understanding torque settings.
- Experience as a journeyman or lead technician and managing contractors, budgets, and production targets.
- Ability to walk a site, review a preventive maintenance (PM) report, and assess its validity instantly.
- Experience dealing with subcontractors and maintaining a professional tone to get the job done.
- Proficiency in writing clean, professional emails.
- Ability to use Excel, Outlook, and Word effectively.
- Responsiveness, friendliness, and respectful communication especially to tenants and onsite stakeholders.
- Reliability in keeping promises and not ghosting people.
- Motivation to work in a team that works hard, sets a high standard, and supports each other.
- Ownership of a large portfolio of solar sites (150 to 300 sites).
- Ability to solve problems quickly and be a reliable point of contact (POC) for vendors, customers, and tenants.
- Experience overseeing maintenance, remediations, budgets, and safety at solar sites.
- Willingness to travel, walk sites, and perform hands-on work when needed.
- Ability to build real relationships, make real decisions, and drive performance in a field environment.
