Job Description
Staff Reliability Engineer - Power Electronics
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or Equivalent.
- Proven track record of solving complex power electronics reliability failures
- Working knowledge in theory of operation of common power converter topologies (inverter, buck boost converter…etc)
- Strong grasp of PCBA-level failure physics (CTE mismatch, solder fatigue, contact resistance, insulation degradation)
- Familiarity with failure modes in common power electronics components (electrolytic caps, relays, semiconductors, magnetics)
- Working knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as optical microscopy, SEM, CSAM, X-ray, cross-sectioning and EDX - know which technique to recommend given a specific failure
- Experience with accelerated life testing models and the governing equations, specifically for PCBAs, battery storage, and relevant mechanical structures.
- Understanding of reliability statistics

Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $165,000 - $192,500 USD.
