Job Description
The VP of Business Development will lead the sales team and develop strategic partnerships to establish Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations in the Middle East, focusing initially on government and defense sectors and expanding into global commercial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Business Development Sales team, including two direct reports.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline focused on government and defense sectors.
- Develop and execute strategies to position Orbitworks as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations.
- Establish and leverage relationships with governments, MoDs, and defense contractors across the Middle East.
- Drive deal closure and open new market opportunities in the Middle East and globally.
Requirements
- Extensive leadership experience in a senior business development or sales management role, with proven ability to lead a team with at least 2 direct reports.
- Existing leadership experience in business development or sales, demonstrating the ability to lead a team and develop a sales pipeline.
- Proven track record of opening doors and closing deals with governments, Ministries of Defense (MoDs), and defense contractors across the Middle East region, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
- Strong network within the government, defense, and satellite manufacturing sectors in the Middle East region.
- Experience in strategic vision, customer engagement, and market expertise to meet ambitious organizational goals.
- Ability to take a hands-on approach to leading a business development sales team.
- Experience in developing and executing strategies to position a company as a leader in satellite manufacturing and operations.
- Knowledge of the satellite manufacturing industry and the defense sector, with an understanding of the regional market dynamics.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, innovative environment focused on building a commercial satellite production facility in the Middle East.
- Familiarity with the process of mass-manufacturing satellites and operating out of a large-scale facility (e.g., 50,000-square-foot facility in Abu Dhabi).
