Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer specializing in space infrastructure, responsible for developing and maintaining satellite operations, ground and flight software, and ensuring the reliable and efficient functioning of a heterogeneous fleet of satellites to support customer missions.
Key Responsibilities
- Scale the operation of a heterogeneous fleet of satellites across various mission types.
- Develop and maintain ground and flight software for satellite operations.
- Ensure the reliable, efficient, and standardized operation of space infrastructure, including satellite bus, Hub, and payloads.
- Solve on-orbit problems related to satellite health and performance.
- Work on systems that interact with mission control software and onboard satellite code.
- Potentially serve as Flight Director, overseeing the health and safety of the satellite fleet.
Requirements
- Experience in developing and maintaining ground and flight software for satellite operations.
- Ability to scale operations to manage a heterogeneous fleet of satellites spanning dedicated, rideshare, and constellation missions.
- Experience working at the intersection of automated satellite operations, ground software, and solving on-orbit problems.
- Knowledge of ensuring reliable, efficient, and standardized operation of space infrastructure, including satellite bus, the Hub, and payloads.
- Experience working with mission control systems, specifically code that interacts with systems like Cockpit.
- Ability to develop and execute onboard satellite software.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot on-orbit issues.
- Excellent communication skills in English to collaborate effectively within an international team and convey complex ideas.
- Experience working in a team-oriented, supportive environment that values respectful debate and challenging assumptions.
