Job Description
The Onboard Software Engineer - Peripheral Services is responsible for developing and maintaining software that interacts with external physical units such as imagers, radios, and customer payloads, supporting the monitoring and control of space program elements and contributing to the onboard satellite architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain onboard software for space systems, including monitoring and control of space program elements.
- Design, implement, and test services and functions that interact with external physical units such as imagers, radios, and customer payloads.
- Create reusable onboard architecture components to support multiple satellite programs.
- Interface with external equipment and spacecraft bus systems to ensure proper communication and functionality.
Requirements
- Experience in onboard software development for space systems, including monitoring and control of major space program elements such as Flight Products computational environments including physical and virtual processors.
- Ability to interface with external equipment such as imagers, RF, ISL, and the spacecraft bus.
- Experience in developing or maintaining services and functions that interact with external physical units such as imagers, radios, and customer payloads.
- Experience with reusable onboard architecture components across multiple satellite programs.
- Strong English communication skills to collaborate effectively within an international team, convey complex ideas, and communicate important messages.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work as a team-oriented collaborator.
