Job Description

The Lead Front End Engineer will be responsible for developing and enhancing the user interface of Kraken's innovative energy management platform, contributing to the company's mission of creating a sustainable and intelligent energy system through advanced web technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead front-end development for the company's energy management platform
  • Design and implement user interfaces and front-end architecture
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and improve web applications

Requirements

  • Proven experience in front-end development with a strong focus on leading or senior roles, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of modern front-end technologies and frameworks, such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Strong understanding of web development best practices, including responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
  • Experience in building and maintaining complex, scalable, and high-performance user interfaces for SaaS platforms or similar enterprise applications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including back-end developers, designers, and product managers.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate complex requirements into functional, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with version control systems, such as Git.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work in the UK or in the company's London office, with consideration for remote work if applicable.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the UK.
