• Shift Leadership:
• Act as the on-duty lead for security officers, providing direction and support during assigned shifts.
• Assist with overseeing daily staffing assignments and ensuring proper post coverage.
• Serve as the first point of contact for officers on shift-related questions or issues.
• Security Operations:
• Support the execution of security protocols, procedures, and regulations across the facility.
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and access control systems to identify and escalate potential risks.
• Conduct and verify routine patrols of interior and exterior areas, including restricted zones.
• Ensure all security equipment is functioning and report any issues to the Supervisor.
• Compliance & Documentation Support:
• Ensure security logs, incident reports, and required documentation are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist in maintaining compliance with state and local cannabis security regulations.
• Support audit preparation by ensuring documentation and daily activities meet compliance standards.
• Incident Response Support:
• Assist in coordinating response to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns during assigned shifts.
• Serve as an escalation point for officers prior to involving the Supervisor or leadership team.
• Ensure proper documentation and communication following incidents.
• Training & Mentorship:
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to new and existing security officers.
• Reinforce standard operating procedures and best practices during daily operations.
• Assist in onboarding new security personnel.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Communicate shift activity, issues, and concerns to the Security Supervisor and leadership team.
• Support investigations by gathering information, reviewing footage, and reporting findings.
• Partner with management to help identify operational improvements and security risks.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in security or a related field.
• Prior experience in a lead, senior, or shift-based leadership role preferred.
• Experience in a regulated industry (cannabis, pharmaceutical, retail, etc.) is a plus.
• Working knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions and escalate appropriately.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 25–50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to remain alert and focused for long shifts, including overnight hours if needed.
