Job Description
A Business Analyst Intern Working Student role focused on developing and refining techno-economic models to evaluate the viability of deep tech solutions in the climate tech industry, with responsibilities including market research, data analysis, and strategic recommendations to support sustainable industrial decarbonization efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and master the Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA) framework and refine its models and supporting analyses.
- Conduct market research and analyze industrial verticals to identify high-potential opportunities.
- Evaluate the fit between applications and technology using TEA and complementary analyses.
- Source, structure, and analyze datasets to strengthen models and insights.
- Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, actionable insights for the team and management.
- Lead TEA-based evaluations across multiple industries and applications independently.
- Provide strategic recommendations to refine business models and strategies based on TEA evaluations.
- Demonstrate technology market fit to partners and investors through rigorous analyses.
Requirements
- A background in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline
- Structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex questions into clear, logical steps, consulting-style approach
- Strong analytical toolkit with advanced Excel modeling skills
- Ability to translate quantitative findings into clear business implications and strategic recommendations
- Excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to management, partners, and investors with clarity and confidence
- Prior experience in techno-economic modeling, financial modeling, or business case development, whether academic or professional
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Ability to work a minimum of 3 days per week in the office in Cologne, Germany
