Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer will work on a multi-disciplinary team in a research and development environment, focusing on the mechanical design of cryogenic systems. Responsibilities include the entire design process from initial design to validation, along with conducting thermal analysis and hands-on lab testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical parts and create drawings for machining
- Coordinate part fabrication
- Complete thermal and mechanical analysis of low-temperature test systems
- Plan and execute thermal and mechanical tests in the lab
- Communicate outcomes of design, analysis, and testing to the technical team
Requirements
- Experience in mechanical design using CAD software e.g. Solidworks and making mechanical part drawings for machining is required.
- Bachelors or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
- Must have U.S. citizenship.
- Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance.
- Able to work at a desk standing or sitting for long periods of time.
- Able to work safely in a laboratory environment.
