Job Description
An HVAC Technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting various HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, and air handling units, in addition to water treatment and system calibration, primarily in industrial and clean room environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, calibrate, and troubleshoot HVAC systems including pumps, motors, valves, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, exhaust fans, air compressors, ducting, cold/hot coils, and pneumatic TCVs
- Test and recharge refrigeration systems
- Operate and maintain process water treatment in HVAC piping systems
- Operate and repair centrifugal chillers up to 500 tons, reciprocating chillers, modular systems, gas-fired boilers, DX units, exhaust fans, cooling towers, water pumps, and pneumatic controls
Requirements
- Work under HVAC lead site technicians to maintain, repair, calibrate, troubleshoot HVAC systems including pumps, motors, valves, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, exhaust fans, air compressors, ducting, cold hot coils, pneumatic actuated TCVs.
- Test and recharge refrigeration systems.
- Operate and maintain process water treatment in HVAC related piping.
- Possess a journey level with a minimum of 5 to 10 years related experience in HVAC systems.
- Have experience in operation and repair of centrifugal chillers up to 500 tons, reciprocating chillers, modular systems, gas-fired boilers, DX units, exhaust fans, cooling towers, water pumps, air compressors, pneumatic controls.
- Be skilled in water treatment methods including pH control, testing, and adjusting chemical balances.
- Be capable of data spreadsheet tracking of equipment parts and be familiar with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Hold a High School Diploma, HVAC certification, Water treatment certification, or other related certifications or training.
- Candidate who has completed a formalized HVAC apprenticeship program is preferred.
- Physical ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs, bend, squat, stoop, twist, carry, and lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other essential motor skills.
- Able to work in confined spaces.
- Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s license.
- Hold Section 608 certification as required by 40 CFR part 82, subpart F, under the EPA Clean Air Act Requirements.
- Meet export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person, including being a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
