Job Description
The Embedded Systems Engineer designs, develops, and tests RF and electromagnetic subsystems and embedded control systems for advanced communication, radar, and EW applications, working closely with scientists and engineers to deliver innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, integrate, and test RF and electromagnetic components and subsystems at frequencies below 0.1 to 200 GHz
- Develop and support RF subsystems for communication, radar, and EW applications in collaboration with scientists and engineers
- Lead engineering and development of embedded control systems for RF systems
- Support system integration and testing, providing rapid design updates as needed
- Mentor junior engineers and document best practices in embedded system development
Requirements
- 7 years of Experience in low-level programming, especially for embedded platforms.
- Experience with HDL Verilog VHDL, HLS, C, C++, Python, or other software experience.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and GitLab.
- Experience with software development best practices including Merge Requests, Code Reviews, CI/CD, and Unit Testing.
- Experience with RF and high-speed digital test equipment.
- Support system integration and test, providing rapid design updates as needed.
- Document and enforce best practices and mentor junior engineers in the embedded area.
- Proficiency in use of computers, engineering workstations, complex electronic equipment, oral and written communication.
- Ability to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, and customers.
- Ability and willingness to travel 20% of the time.
- US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance.
- Required Education: B.S. or M.S. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
