Job Description

The role involves leading the establishment and operation of a new semiconductor manufacturing facility, overseeing production, quality, and process improvements, and managing a multidisciplinary team to scale up R&D and medium-rate manufacturing for aerospace and defense products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the startup, qualification, and transfer of manufacturing capacity to a new facility for R&D and medium-rate production.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and drive data-driven improvements.
  • Oversee materials planning, forecasting, and product mix management for pre-production and production-released products.
  • Manage budgets, control costs, and ensure financial efficiency within the operations department.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies across all operations.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, engineering, and manufacturing teams to optimize production workflows and reduce cycle times.
  • Represent operations management in new product development, strategic planning, and product portfolio decisions.
  • Organize and facilitate operational reviews and strategic planning activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields and 15 years of relevant semiconductor experience.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency in using operational management software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of operational processes and best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and independently multitask, prioritize, make high-level decisions, meet aggressive deadlines, and communicate results, trade-offs, and decisions to all stakeholders.
  • Experience in semiconductor product engineering with an emphasis on packaging camera sensors and image sensors with full lifecycle responsibility from NPI launch to EOL.
  • Experience in leading and managing operations teams, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Ability to create, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring financial efficiency within the operations department.
  • Experience in overseeing relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of ensuring operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Experience in overseeing and optimizing materials planning and execution, including forecasting and product mix management for both pre-production and production-released products.
  • Ability to identify and import best-known methods for customer configuration management for high-complexity product families.
  • Experience working with supply chain, product engineering, and manufacturing operations to streamline and optimize production supply chain flows and drive cycle time reduction.
  • Experience representing and championing operations management in new product development, strategic planning, and product portfolio decisions.
  • Experience organizing and facilitating monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reviews and strategic planning activities.
