Job Description
The Thermal Engineer Battery Systems at Gotion Inc. is responsible for leading thermal design and simulation efforts for electric vehicle battery packs, collaborating with cross-functional teams and customers to optimize thermal performance and ensure successful product development from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thermal CFD simulations to analyze and optimize battery pack performance
- Collaborate with OEM customers and internal teams to develop and refine battery pack designs
- Manage analysis processes with offshore simulation teams to ensure quality and compliance
- Present technical findings, design trade-offs, and recommendations to leadership
- Work with cross-functional teams to provide simulation-driven design input
- Correlate simulation results with physical test data and update models accordingly
- Support DFMEA, design reviews, and test planning activities
- Document CFD modeling approaches and simulation results to inform design improvements
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 3 years of experience in high voltage battery pack thermal design and simulations and supporting the product development life cycle.
- Proficiency in using COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM, or other CAE tools for thermal CFD simulation, including design tools such as CATIA V6.
- A strong foundation in engineering principles and a history of applying this knowledge to solve complex problems.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support projects.
- Full-time onsite presence at the Manteno, IL location.

US base salary range of $90,000 to $128,000
