Job Description
The job involves developing and implementing a comprehensive purchasing strategy to optimize procurement costs and enhance supply chain efficiency in a manufacturing environment, specifically within the battery manufacturing industry. The role includes supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, inventory management, and collaboration with internal teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive purchasing strategy to optimize procurement costs and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Identify and qualify potential suppliers of raw materials, components, and supplies.
- Conduct thorough supplier evaluations assessing quality, cost, reliability, and capacity.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with suppliers ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
- Manage inventory levels effectively to balance production needs and minimize carrying costs.
- Monitor supply chain performance and implement contingency plans for potential disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure purchased materials meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and market developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement roles in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the battery manufacturing industry.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating and managing supplier contracts, achieving cost savings, and ensuring timely deliveries.
- In-depth understanding of battery manufacturing processes and the specific raw materials, components, and supplies required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate supply chain risks and disruptions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in the use of supply chain management software and data analysis tools.
