Job Description
The Senior Counsel at Gotion Inc. will provide strategic legal support across various practice areas, including contracts, employment law, real estate, and compliance, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on renewable energy and electric vehicle technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor, supplier, and customer contracts.
- Advise on employment matters, including policies, compliance, and employee relations.
- Oversee real estate matters, including lease agreements and property acquisitions.
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures related to laws and regulations.
- Identify legal risks and provide strategic counsel to mitigate exposure.
- Support corporate governance initiatives, including maintaining corporate records and regulatory filings.
- Partner with business units to provide legal guidance on projects and operational needs.
- Manage and oversee disputes, claims, or litigation matters.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active bar membership in at least one U.S. state, with the ability to practice in Illinois or obtain Illinois in-house counsel registration.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience in a law firm or in-house counsel role, preferably in a manufacturing, energy, or high-growth environment.
- Strong expertise in drafting and negotiating contracts and a solid understanding of employment law and property-related legal issues.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities and provide practical, business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to manage external counsel effectively and efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills with a business-level to near native-level fluency in English written and oral.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $200k - $250k, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits
