Job Description
The role involves leading government relations efforts for a renewable energy company, including policy monitoring, advocacy, and building strategic partnerships with policymakers and industry groups to support energy sector initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate with U.S. federal and state governments, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to promote policy dialogue and coordinate interests.
- Monitor and analyze U.S. policy trends related to new energy, battery manufacturing, and supply chain security, producing detailed reports.
- Participate in congressional hearings and policy lobbying to advocate for tax incentives, subsidies, and compliance exemptions.
- Build strategic partnerships with lawmakers, policy think tanks, and industry alliances.
- Manage government communication and public opinion responses during crisis events such as trade sanctions and national security reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Business Management, or related fields.
- At least 15 years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or related fields, with a strong track record of managing government relations.
- Deep understanding of U.S. policy-making processes, regulatory systems, and industry regulations, especially in the energy sector.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with government officials.
- Strong policy analysis and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor and analyze policy trends in the U.S. in areas such as new energy, battery manufacturing, and supply chain security, including familiarity with policies like the Inflation Reduction Act, FTC regulations, and national security reviews.
- Experience in taking the lead in participating in congressional hearings and policy lobbying activities to advocate for tax incentives, subsidies, and compliance exemptions.
- Experience in building strategic partnerships with key lawmakers, policy think tanks, and industry alliances such as NAAT, Batt, and AABC.
- Ability to manage government communication and public opinion response during crisis events such as trade sanctions and national security reviews.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $185,000 - $250,000 USD
