Job Description
The position involves designing and reviewing high voltage lithium battery systems for electric vehicles, including electrical schematics, component selection, and ensuring compliance with standards, with a focus on system requirements and supplier collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design high voltage battery pack systems and electrical schematics
- Review and evaluate electrical components and BMS software requirements
- Communicate with battery suppliers and BMS team to review system requirements
- Identify battery system and test requirements
- Review and approve electrical component DFMEA and DVP&R
- Ensure compliance with high voltage battery electrical standards and requirements
- Support component PPAP submissions for electrical components
Requirements
- A Systems or Electrical Engineering degree.
- High voltage over 200V battery design experience is a must.
- Experience with supplier design review and helping the supplier to meet requirements and timeline.
- Experience in system requirement developments and defining a system level architect.
- Familiarity with Lithium ion battery technology.
- Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and data acquisition systems.
- Strong data-driven analytical problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate with high voltage battery suppliers to review and evaluate battery requirements.
- Ability to communicate with the BMS team regarding system requirements.
- Ability to develop electrical schematics for the battery pack and battery disconnect unit (BDU).
- Ability to review high voltage battery electrical components.
- Ability to select electrical component suppliers and work with them.
- Ability to review and approve electrical component DFMEA and DVP&R.
- Ability to review and approve design changes.
- Ability to ensure all high voltage battery pack electrical standards and requirements are met.
- Ability to support component PPAP submission for electrical components.

Compensation/salary range: $70,000 - $130,000 USD
