Job Description
The Environmental Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the company's adherence to environmental policies, regulations, and ISO 14001 standards through monitoring, reporting, audits, and providing technical guidance to promote environmental stewardship across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, report, and coordinate activities to ensure environmental compliance with policies, regulations, and ISO 14001 standards.
- Maintain and update environmental compliance documentation and record-keeping systems.
- Conduct environmental audits and inspections to identify hazards and verify compliance.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and support to employees on environmental initiatives and compliance requirements.
- Communicate non-conformance issues to leadership and propose compliant solutions for regulatory changes.
- Participate in training sessions on environmental regulations, ISO standards, and compliance programs.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance environmental performance and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering preferred or an accredited environmental certification
- Certification OSHA 30 General Industry required
- 2 to 3 years of related experience in environmental compliance or a similar role
- Solid understanding of ISO 14001 standards
- Knowledge of EPA processes and requirements
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to perform environmental audits and inspect facilities, equipment, and processes to identify hazards and ensure compliance with environmental standards
- Ability to monitor, report, perform, and coordinate activities to ensure compliance with the company's environmental policy, regulatory requirements, and ISO 14001 certification
- Ability to maintain compliance documentation review, update, and revise environmental documentation annually
- Ability to manage environmental record-keeping systems to ensure compliance with regulatory retention requirements
- Ability to provide technical assistance, coaching, and mentoring to employees on environmental initiatives and compliance requirements
- Ability to communicate issues regarding non-conformance to HSE leadership in line with established policies and procedures
- Ability to monitor and evaluate the impact of regulatory changes on existing and proposed processes and equipment, and propose compliant solutions
- Ability to conduct and/or coordinate training sessions on environmental regulations, ISO 14001 standards, and related compliance programs
- Willingness to work in conditions occasionally involving extreme heat and moderate noise levels while adhering to safety requirements, including wearing safety glasses and steel-toed boots
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 (base salary)
Eligibility for bonus
