Job Description
The Director of Product for Fraud and Risk is responsible for designing and executing systems and controls to protect credit products and consumer payments, while ensuring a seamless user experience, and leading efforts to reduce losses through strategic fraud and risk management in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect systems, controls, and decisioning to protect credit products, consumer payments, and homeowner experiences
- Develop and execute strategies to address complex fraud and risk challenges
- Align partners around signals and defenses to mitigate fraud and reduce losses
- Drive the roadmap for fraud and risk reduction initiatives
- Scale fraud and risk capabilities as the business grows
Requirements
- Experience in leading fraud and risk functions within a fintech or consumer credit environment, with the ability to architect systems, controls, and decisioning processes that protect credit products, consumer payments, and homeowner experiences.
- Proven ability to develop and execute strategies that reduce losses and improve risk management outcomes, including personally driving the roadmap for fraud and risk reduction initiatives.
- Strong systems-level thinking with hands-on rigor to operate effectively at a director-level in a fast-moving fintech environment.
- Ability to align partners around the right signals and defenses related to fraud and risk management.
- Experience in scaling fraud and risk capabilities as the business grows, including shaping how teams and systems evolve to meet increasing demands.
- Excellent communication skills to bring clarity to complex fraud and risk challenges and to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to operate with a high level of precision and operational excellence while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Experience in managing or working within a high-impact, fast-paced environment with a focus on consumer credit, payments, or related financial products.
- Knowledge of the regulatory and legal considerations related to fraud prevention and risk management in consumer finance.
- Experience in developing decisioning systems, controls, and signals to identify and prevent fraud effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to own and lead the strategy and execution of fraud and risk initiatives from conception through implementation.
