Job Description Summary
The Commissioning / Roll-out Manager is responsible for the on-site coordination, supervision, and management of installation, integration, testing, and commissioning activities for technology systems within a digital infrastructure project. This includes servers, network equipment, IT infrastructure, software platforms, power and supporting systems, control and monitoring systems, and telecommunications infrastructure.
The role ensures that installation activities are properly sequenced and coordinated across multiple contractors and technical disciplines, that systems are installed in accordance with design and manufacturer requirements, and that the site is progressively made ready for testing, commissioning, and customer handover. The Commissioning Site Manager acts as the primary on-site point of accountability for translating engineering and commissioning plans into safe, coordinated, and timely execution.
• Lead and coordinate daily on-site installation activities across multiple technology disciplines, ensuring alignment with project schedules and commissioning milestones.
• Ensure equipment and systems are installed in accordance with approved designs, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and project standards.
• Manage contractors, subcontractors, specialist vendors, and technology suppliers, monitoring their performance, productivity, quality, and schedule commitments.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning, testing, and commissioning activities across interdependent systems and disciplines, supporting recovery plans where required.
• Manage material and equipment logistics, ensuring timely delivery, availability, storage, and movement to support installation schedules.
• Coordinate technical interfaces across servers, networks, software platforms, electrical systems, telecommunications, monitoring systems, and cybersecurity infrastructure.
• Oversee site quality activities, inspections, punch lists, defect resolution, testing records, and completion of handover documentation.
• Ensure compliance with site health, safety, security, access control, permit, and energisation requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
• Monitor and report installation and commissioning progress, proactively escalating risks, delays, material shortages, and technical or interface issues.
• Support customer inspections, acceptance testing, final handover, and project closeout, ensuring all outstanding items and documentation are completed.
