Job Description

The Civil & Structural Engineering Leader – HVDC is responsible for leading the civil and structural engineering scope for HVDC projects across proposal, execution, installation, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the civil and structural engineering scope for HVDC projects, including: Equipment and building foundations Structural steel supports and platforms Control buildings, valve halls, and auxiliary structures Site development, grading, drainage, and roadways Cable trenches, underground networks, and associated infrastructure
Define project-specific civil and structural design criteria in alignment with customer requirements, local regulations, and applicable international codes and standards.
Own the quality, on-time delivery, and technical adequacy of civil and structural engineering deliverables.
Coordinate interfaces with electrical, mechanical, system, installation, and construction teams to ensure integrated design execution.
Review and approve design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports prepared internally or by external engineering partners.
Support technical bid preparation, scope definition, cost estimation, risk review, and proposal development for new opportunities.
Manage external consultants, design houses, and contractors supporting civil and structural scope.
Provide technical support during construction and commissioning, including review of site issues, field changes, contractor submittals, and requests for information.
Drive standardization, lessons learned, productivity improvements, and best practices within the civil and structural engineering function.
Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Support planning, forecasting, and resource coordination for civil and structural engineering activities across projects.
