Job Description

The Automation & Process Controls Technician is responsible for supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of automation and process control systems used in a manufacturing environment, with an initial focus on ECM equipment and associated manufacturing processes.

Requirements

Associate degree or technical certification in: Industrial Automation Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology Mechatronics Instrumentation Industrial Controls Process Controls
(or equivalent experience)
2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial automation, maintenance, or process control environment.
Basic knowledge of: PLC and HMI systems Industrial electrical systems Process instrumentation Sensors and actuators Motors and drives Industrial control systems
Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics and control drawings.
Experience with PLC and HMI platforms such as: Rockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley) Siemens
Experience with: Process instrumentation Temperature, pressure, flow, and level measurement Gas detection systems Motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs) Pumps and automated valves Remote I/O systems Industrial Ethernet networks EtherNet/IP and PROFINET Machine and process safety systems
Experience supporting automated manufacturing or chemical/process-related equipment.
Familiarity with equipment commissioning, FAT/SAT, preventive maintenance, and lifecycle management.
PLC and HMI troubleshooting
Process controls and instrumentation
Electrical and controls diagnostics
Sensor and actuator troubleshooting
Industrial network fundamentals
Electrical schematic and control drawing interpretation
Problem solving and root cause analysis
Technical documentation
Strong communication and teamwork
Ability to work effectively with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, EHS, and equipment vendors
Ability to work the required schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM .
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions, and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and protected individuals, such as certain refugees and asylees). GE will require proof of status prior to employment.
Ability to work overtime as required, including occasional weekend shifts.
Willingness to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
