Job Description

A hands-on truck technician responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and ensuring the optimal operation of autonomous and diesel trucks to support Gatik's middle-mile logistics fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on trucks and reefer units
  • Prepare trucks for transport and handle on-road repairs and emergency service calls
  • Manage fleet health by monitoring batteries, fluids, and systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and computer systems onboard trucks
  • Replace and maintain network and sensor components on autonomous systems
  • Document work performed, parts used, and system changes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
  • Support and collaborate with engineering team for vehicle improvements
  • Be on-call for off-hours or weekend issues when needed

Requirements

  • Three years of truck maintenance or diesel technician experience.
  • Certified and qualified to perform DOT inspections per FMCSA regulations.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and solve mechanical, electrical, and computer issues on trucks.
  • Familiarity with wiring soldering, splicing, and crimping.
  • Familiarity with CAN bus diagnostics and vehicle sensor systems.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to take initiative without needing micromanagement.
  • Valid AZ Class C driver’s license.
  • Technical trade certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working with Thermo King or other reefer systems.
  • Strong communication skills and a service-first mindset.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and computer systems onboard trucks.
  • Ability to handle on-road repairs, diagnostics, and emergency service calls.
  • Ability to perform regular preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel box trucks and Thermo King reefer units.
  • Ability to prepare trucks for transport, including battery disconnects, tire deflation, securing equipment, and coordinating with haulers.
  • Ability to manage parked fleet health, ensuring batteries, fluids, and systems stay healthy.
  • Support and collaborate with the engineering team for vehicle improvements.
  • On-call availability for off-hours or weekend issues when needed.
