Key Responsibilities
We're seeking seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This is a high-impact role with primary responsibility for managing the company’s general ledger and the financial system. You will be a driving force behind the monthly and quarterly close processes, with a specific focus on maintaining rigorous controls over cash reconciliations and asset schedules. This position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys a fast-growing environment and possesses the technical expertise to handle complex GAAP requirements.
This role is onsite 5 days a week at our Santa Clara, CA office.
Financial Close & Reporting
Lead the Monthly Close: Ensure all financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP and delivered in a timely manner.
Financial Analysis: Perform quarterly and yearly Balance Sheet (BS) and Profit & Loss (PL) flux analyses to explain variances and trends.
Cash & Treasury Management
Daily Reconciliation: Monitor and reconcile daily cash transactions, ensuring all bank activity is accurately mirrored in Netsuite.
Monthly Bank Recs: Complete formal monthly bank reconciliations for all operating accounts, resolving any discrepancies immediately.
Cash Forecasting: Conduct regular cash forecasting to ensure liquidity for operations.
Asset & Expense Management
Prepaid Expenses: Record and manage the full lifecycle of prepaid expenses. Maintain detailed amortization schedules and post monthly adjusting journal entries to the GL.
Account Reconciliations: Prepare comprehensive reconciliations for fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and prepaids, ensuring all work papers are "audit-ready."
Expense Compliance: Review and process employee expense reports via Concur, ensuring adherence to company policy
Compliance & Tax
Tax Filings: Manage the execution of tax filings, including Sales & Use tax, property tax, and required local filings
Requirements
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Technical Skills: Proficient in US GAAP and SEC standards. Hands-on experience with General Ledger management and audit work paper preparation.
Software: Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) are required. Experience with Netsuite or similar mid-market ERPs is highly desirable.
Education: Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
Preferred: Public accounting experience, CPA certification, and some cost accounting or international consolidation experience.
