Job Description
As the need for nuclear energy grows, the future couldn’t be brighter.
Key Responsibilities
Perform standard and non-standard engineering assignments typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, preparation of specifications, execution of field tasks resolution of field problems and resolution of quality events.
Solve a range of straightforward problems, analyze solutions and assess each using standard procedures.
Ensure compliance with government regulations, organization, industry and customer engineering standards with support of senior staff.
Independently evaluate, select and apply standard technical techniques, procedures, and criteria using judgement in making minor adaptations and modifications for tasks previously performed.
Requirements
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of nuclear materials, such as stainless steels, zirconium alloys, castings, ceramics (nuclear fuels), etc. Also, cognizant of industry standards, best practices, manufacturing processes, and emerging technologies.
Problem-solving / Decision-making: Adept at analyzing complex problems and making informed decisions and ability to think critically, evaluate alternatives and propose effective solutions to technical challenges.
Communication / Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate with team members, other departments, customers, vendors, and different levels of management and ability to convey technical information clearly, listen actively, and foster open lines of communication.
Project management: Plan, organize, and execute projects to ensure engineering tasks are completed within budget, schedule, and are of high quality.
Innovation: Aware of state-of-the-art developments within the nuclear industry and able to propose new developments, ideas, and methodologies to advance Framatome's R&D portfolio, specifically in the area of nuclear material applications.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Dependent on the position, degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology and Engineering Science may also be accepted.
Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
Knowledge of related engineering standards, techniques and criteria.
Good communication skills to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.
Ability to develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships; work collaboratively within a team environment.
Good problem identification and problem resolution skills.
Exhibits questioning attitude and practices self-checking.
Advanced proficiency with specialized software tools and programming languages as required by the role.
Benefits & Perks
Salary: $88,000 - $95,000 and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
