Job Description
The role involves leading the preparation and review of SEC filings, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting financial reporting processes for a company developing advanced solid-state battery technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Form 8-K and proxy statements
- Draft and analyze earnings releases, investor presentations, and public disclosures
- Research new accounting standards, SEC regulations, and draft technical memos
- Coordinate with external auditors, legal counsel, and internal teams for financial reporting and disclosures
- Assist with accounting policy implementation projects and ad hoc financial initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA designation
- At least 8 years of related accounting and finance experience
- Prior experience in public accounting and in-house reporting
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, and SOX 404 requirements
- Experience leading the drafting, review, and timely submission of quarterly and annual SEC filings, earnings materials, and related disclosures
- Experience analyzing quarterly and year-to-date fluctuations in income and balance sheet accounts for consideration in earnings releases
- Experience coordinating with external auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to support financial reporting and disclosure requirements
- Experience supporting the preparation of earnings releases, investor presentations, and other public disclosures
- Experience participating in ad hoc financial projects and systems improvement
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytic skills
- Attention to detail
- Experience with SEC filing tools such as Workiva, ActiveDisclosure, or similar
