Job Description
A Web Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining user interfaces for ArcGIS Enterprise web applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver user-focused features and modernize legacy codebases while ensuring accessibility and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain web applications and UI modules for large-scale deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create user-focused features and workflows
- Prototype web applications to demonstrate new concepts and ideas
- Drive REST API design for integrating web applications with back-end services
- Enforce UI consistency, accessibility standards, and internationalization compliance
- Apply software design and development best practices in daily activities
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to team members
- Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and reviews
- Support modernization efforts by refactoring legacy codebases and adopting new frameworks
Requirements
- One year of experience designing, building, and delivering web applications.
- Strong collaboration skills across cross-functional teams and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge of the core JavaScript and TypeScript language and experience building object-oriented JavaScript applications.
- Experience using and developing applications with JavaScript toolkits and UI frameworks/libraries such as React, Vue, Angular, jQuery, Dojo, and more.
- Experience with HTML, DOM, CSS, event model, and cross-browser development.
- Experience with AJAX, JSON, and REST APIs.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently and in groups to effectively participate in the software development life cycle.
- Consistently positive, professional attitude when facing ambiguity, deadlines, or production issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
