Job Description
An Enterprise Database Engineer at Esri designs, implements, and maintains geospatial enterprise databases, working with customers to develop GIS workflows and ensure optimal database performance and security across various platforms and applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement enterprise geodatabase models and strategies
- Configure geodatabase maintenance, tuning, and security
- Collaborate with customers to develop GIS workflows and solutions
- Present technical demonstrations to diverse customer teams
- Support all phases of GIS solution implementation, including requirements analysis, design, build, and deployment
- Work with development teams to enhance Esri capabilities and user experience
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of professional experience in database architecture and administration for Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or SAP Hana.
- Demonstrated experience with database design, data loading techniques, physical storage, backup recovery strategies and data retention solutions, data security, and enterprise database maintenance and tuning.
- Demonstrated experience with geoprocessing tools, tasks, and ModelBuilder.
- Programming and scripting experience with Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with performance assessment and tuning techniques.
- Familiarity with geospatial and mapping concepts such as spatial types, spatial analysis, map projections, and related topics.
- Ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts to technical peers and non-technical project managers or customers.
- U.S. citizenship and willingness and ability to maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related STEM field.
