Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for developing innovative GIS solutions, advising customers on complex business challenges, and demonstrating the value of Esri technology through technical consulting, presentations, and solution design in industries such as electric, gas, and telecommunications.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions to address business challenges
- Build relationships and support the sale of Esri software and solutions
- Lead technical meetings with enterprise decision makers to drive revenue
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in GIS, especially in electric, gas, or telecommunications sectors
- Design and deliver presentations for technical and non-technical audiences
- Configure GIS applications and provide best practices guidance
- Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Develop complex GIS strategies aligned with customer business needs
- Share knowledge and coach team members on GIS best practices
Requirements
- 5 years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- 3 years of experience in electric, gas, and/or telecommunications industries
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Understanding of sales and business development processes
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
- Ability to design presentations for technical and non-technical audiences within Esri’s largest customers
- Provide configuration guidance and best practices for Esri solutions
