Job Description
The role involves supporting the development and testing of software for monitoring system health, performance, and usage of ArcGIS implementations, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality solutions, and providing technical documentation and user support.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and release high-quality software in collaboration with developers
- Develop and execute test plans and manage testing datasets for various testing phases
- Translate industry standards and requirements into software design
- Create and refine user stories to define new feature capabilities
- Communicate with product users to gather requirements and advocate for their needs
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to develop mockups for new features
- Author and review user guide documentation for accuracy and usability
- Provide technical support, demonstrations, and best practices for the product
- Work with automation engineers to design UI automation tests
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position supporting responsibilities related to software development, testing, or system monitoring.
- Professional experience working as a GIS or IT practitioner maintaining a GIS or IT environment.
- Experience deploying and/or administering ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, or other comparable IT systems web application servers.
- Familiarity with traditional RDBMS systems, preferably PostgreSQL, including common SQL commands and concepts.
- Familiarity with general server administration on Windows or Linux operating systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a cross-functional environment.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), geography, computer science, or a STEM-related field.
- Experience supporting responsibilities such as designing, building, testing, and releasing high-quality software, authoring and executing test plans, building and managing testing datasets for N-path, acceptance, and regression testing, and authoring Scrum user stories.
- Experience working with automation engineers to design UI automation.
- Experience supporting or working with observability systems and performance monitoring concepts such as Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Shell, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
- Experience in the SCRUM process and its application to the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with software control systems like GIT and understanding of continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) concepts.
