Job Description
The role involves developing, testing, and deploying web GIS technologies and applications within the ArcGIS Online platform, with a focus on cloud infrastructure, security, and quality assurance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance GIS solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, test, and release components within the ArcGIS Online platform
- Assist with implementation design and quality assurance for backend APIs
- Design and improve software update processes for cloud infrastructure
- Validate and enhance security functionality of ArcGIS Online
- Conduct functional and workflow testing, both manual and automated
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate requirements into software
- Share workflows and technical knowledge through help topics, tutorials, and presentations
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software testing or software development in a similar engineering environment.
- Proven hands-on experience with deployment and management of applications in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services like Amazon S3, SQS, EC2, and Azure services such as Storage, Virtual Machines, Kubernetes, or similar.
- Fundamental understanding of web services such as REST.
- Ability to automate workflows via scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Passionate about building and delivering quality software.
- Organized with effective time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, math, GIS, geography, or a related field.
