Job Description
The product engineer will develop, test, and deploy web GIS technologies and applications within the ArcGIS Online platform, working across cloud infrastructure and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and security.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, design, test, and release components within the ArcGIS Online platform across cloud infrastructure.
- Assist with implementation design and quality assurance for backend APIs and software update processes.
- Design and validate security functionalities to enhance ArcGIS Online.
- Conduct functional and workflow testing, both manual and automated, to ensure product quality.
- Troubleshoot and triage customer issues related to the platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and incorporate them into the software.
- Share workflows and technical knowledge through help topics, blog posts, tutorials, and presentations.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in software testing or software development in a similar engineering environment.
- Proven hands-on experience with deployment and management of applications in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services like Amazon S3, SQS, EC2, Azure Storage, Virtual Machines, or Kubernetes.
- Fundamental understanding of web services such as REST.
- Ability to automate workflows via scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Passion for building and delivering quality software.
- Organizational skills with effective time management.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, math, GIS, geography, or a related field.
