Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for advising clients on complex GIS solutions, demonstrating the value of Esri technology, and leading technical discussions to address business challenges in government and other sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate their value
- Build relationships and support the sale of Esri software and solutions
- Lead technical meetings with enterprise decision-makers to drive revenue
- Serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in GIS technology and government sectors
- Design and deliver technical presentations for diverse audiences
- Configure GIS solutions and provide best practices guidance
- Troubleshoot client issues related to Esri applications and system architecture
- Develop complex strategies aligning Esri technology with customer business needs
- Share knowledge and coach team members on GIS best practices
Requirements
- Five years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- Three years of experience in state or local government
- Broad knowledge of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, and cloud computing
- Demonstrated experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
- Understanding of sales and business development processes
- Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
- Programming and scripting experience with languages such as Python and JavaScript
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
- Ability to incorporate real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure (preferred but not mandatory)
- Knowledge of digitalization strategies that include mobile, IoT, advanced analytics, data science, AI, ML, and imagery (preferred but not mandatory)
