Job Description

The Account Manager at Esri is responsible for building relationships with federal civilian agencies, promoting GIS solutions, and driving sales and account growth through strategic engagement, industry knowledge, and technical expertise in geospatial science and related technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with large, complex organizations and develop location strategies.
  • Identify new opportunities and deepen existing client relationships within high-level accounts.
  • Understand customer needs, industry knowledge, and key stakeholders to facilitate GIS solutions.
  • Articulate the value of Esri technology through research, professional development, and visual storytelling.
  • Manage the sales cycle, execute account strategies, and meet revenue goals.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to develop and implement account plans.
  • Support and mentor team members, share knowledge, and resolve issues proactively.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) years of enterprise sales and/or relevant consulting or program management experience.
  • Five (5) years of experience working in or supporting the federal government public sector.
  • Experience managing the sales cycle, creating partnerships, and establishing oneself as a trusted advisor with large customers.
  • Possess financial and business acumen to build compelling account growth strategies.
  • Advanced knowledge of the public sector industry and new technology trends and the ability to translate this into complex solutions for customers.
  • Understanding of GIS, Esri technology, and the public sector as they relate to one another.
  • Expert visual storyteller and negotiator across all levels of an organization.
  • Knowledge of industry fiscal year, budgeting, and procurement cycles.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%.
  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field.
