Job Description
A Senior Consultant at Esri works closely with clients to design, implement, and optimize advanced GIS solutions using Esri's enterprise technology, leading complex projects and providing strategic guidance to support geospatial initiatives across various transportation sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, design, optimize, and enable advanced ArcGIS enterprise solutions for clients
- Manage complex GIS projects and develop multi-year implementation and migration strategies
- Lead project teams through requirements gathering, analysis, design, configuration, and optimization phases
- Provide strategic guidance on consulting, risk management, project management, and best practices
- Develop and present innovative proposals to secure new business opportunities
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify and develop new GIS solutions and markets
- Create thought leadership and industry-specific GIS solutions
- Translate customer business goals into technical GIS solutions and strategies
Requirements
- 8 years of experience supporting the design, implementation, and administration of geospatial technology including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and/or ArcGIS Platform
- Proven experience in engaging, creating, designing, and implementing enterprise GIS solutions systems that leverage Esri software products
- Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to technical peers, project managers, and customers
- Demonstrated ability to translate a customer’s business goals, objectives, and strategies into technical solutions
- Professional experience winning new work in collaboration with sales and business development teams including proposal management experience preparing executive summaries, solution definition, scope of work, staffing, and pricing
- Proven ability to develop and create project designs, work plans, project budgets, and project timelines schedules
- Ability to engage, collaborate, and facilitate with customers, internal and external teams, and stakeholders
- Experience in leading and empowering team activities to include finances, budgets, personnel, and risk management
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography, Computer Science, Planning, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field
- Experience in the integration of ArcGIS with common Transportation enterprise systems, such as asset management, work management, linear referencing, fleet management, safety management, construction management, capital investment planning, field mobility solutions, and raster data management systems
- Ability to lead and manage consulting, configuration, and software development teams
- Experience with ArcGIS, location-based services, geo-enabled apps, spatial analysis, or similar geospatial technology
- Experience with current technology implementation patterns including service-oriented and cloud computing architecture
- Understanding of IT integration concepts such as databases, web services, webhooks, mobile device configurations, web browsers, and IT system architecture concepts
