Job Description
This role involves managing relationships and developing strategies to promote Esri's GIS technology solutions within local government organizations, focusing on customer engagement, account growth, and industry expertise to drive adoption and success.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with large, complex local government organizations and identify new opportunities.
- Develop and implement location strategies to expand GIS adoption and growth.
- Understand customer needs, key stakeholders, and organizational decision-making processes.
- Demonstrate the value of Esri technology through presentations and industry knowledge.
- Manage the sales cycle to meet revenue goals and evaluate work based on customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams and partners to develop account strategies and share knowledge.
Requirements
- Experience managing the sales cycle, creating partnerships, and establishing yourself as a trusted advisor with large customers
- Possess financial and business acumen to build compelling account growth strategies
- Advanced knowledge of local government and new technology trends and the ability to translate this into complex solutions for customers
- Understanding of GIS, Esri technology, and local government as they relate to one another
- Expert visual storyteller and negotiator across all levels of an organization
- Knowledge of industry fiscal year, budgeting, and procurement cycles
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, business administration, or a related field
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available)
- Total professional experience should include a proven track record of building relationships, prospecting, developing, and implementing location strategies for large, complex organizations, and creating new opportunities within high-level accounts
- Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate the strength and value of Esri technology as it relates to the local government industry
- Ability to continually evaluate work in terms of its contribution to meeting customer needs
- Ability to lead account strategies by collaborating with teams across Esri and partners, sharing knowledge, and supporting team members
- Strong communication skills to participate in and present at trade shows, workshops, and seminars
