Job Description
A Software Developer II at Esri's Field Apps team will design and develop high-performance Android applications for field data collection, mapping, and navigation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and create impactful mobile tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance Android applications from architecture to implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers and designers throughout the development process.
- Translate user requirements into functional software for field mapping, data collection, and navigation.
- Solve complex technical challenges related to offline data sync, GPS integration, and mapping experiences.
- Participate in design and code reviews to ensure best practices and code quality.
- Advocate for Android development within the company and at industry conferences.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of commercial software development experience.
- Proficiency in Kotlin programming for Android development.
- Experience developing on the Android platform.
- Strong object-oriented design skills.
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Knowledge of mobile development issues related to performance optimization and caching.
- Ability to develop software for use in field mapping, data collection, sensor networks, street navigation, and similar applications.
- Participation in design and code reviews to develop strong skills and best practices on the team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to be a team player who can also work independently.
- Ability to thrive in an environment that changes often.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.

Base salary range of $97,760 to $163,280 USD
