Job Description
A technical writer responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for ArcGIS Pro software, including user guides, tutorials, release notes, and internal content, to help users effectively understand and utilize GIS technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and edit user-facing documentation for ArcGIS Pro, including tutorials, settings, configuration help, release notes, and licensing information
- Test software features, understand functionality, and document effectively
- Identify and report software issues to development teams and verify fixes through testing
- Create screen-capture videos demonstrating software functionality and workflows
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather technical details and translate them into clear documentation
- Respond to user feedback on documentation and update content accordingly
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience with GIS concepts and workflows.
- Background in technical or academic writing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write clearly for a technical audience.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Portfolio submission with writing samples of recent work.
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
