Job Description
A technical writer responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for ArcGIS Pro software, including user guides, tutorials, release notes, and internal content, to help users effectively utilize the GIS software and collaborate with development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and edit user-facing and internal documentation for ArcGIS Pro, including tutorials, workflows, release notes, and help content.
- Test software features, understand functionality, and document them effectively.
- Identify and report software issues to development teams and verify fixes through testing.
- Create screen-capture videos demonstrating software functionality and workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering, product managers, and other teams to gather technical details and translate them into clear documentation.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience with GIS concepts and workflows.
- Background in technical or academic writing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write clearly for a technical audience.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Portfolio submission with writing samples of recent work.
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship is not available).
