Job Description
A technical writer responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for ArcGIS Pro software, including user guides, tutorials, release notes, and internal content, to help users effectively utilize the GIS application and collaborate with development teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and edit documentation for ArcGIS Pro, including conceptual, workflow, tutorials, settings, configuration help, release notes, licensing information, and 'What's New' content.
- Test software features, collaborate with colleagues to understand functionality, and produce effective documentation.
- Identify and report software issues to development teams and verify fixes through testing.
- Contribute to or review documentation for other Esri products as needed.
- Respond to user feedback on documentation and update content accordingly.
- Produce screen-capture videos demonstrating software functionality or workflows.
Requirements
- Two years of experience with GIS concepts and workflows.
- Background in technical or academic writing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to write clearly for a technical audience.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Portfolio submission of writing samples of recent work.
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
