Job Description
A technical writer responsible for creating and maintaining user assistance documentation and enablement materials for GIS software and IoT technologies, working closely with subject matter experts and product teams to ensure clear, consistent, and effective content that enhances the user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain user assistance documentation and enablement materials for GIS software and IoT technologies.
- Become a subject matter expert by supporting and understanding the software, workflows, and methodologies.
- Develop various UA materials including help guides, tutorials, blog articles, and videos throughout the software development cycle.
- Ensure documentation aligns with company style and meets release requirements.
- Collaborate with product teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to deliver consistent and effective content.
- Provide feedback and testing support to the product development team to improve functionality and documentation.
Requirements
- Two years of professional experience in a similar position supporting responsibilities related to technical writing and documentation.
- An understanding of documentation workflows that use HTML, DITA, or Markdown.
- Experience producing web-based documentation using a content management system (CMS) that allows reuse of content.
- Ability to learn and use software as a customer would to produce the deliverables based on the experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey complex topics concisely, clearly, and effectively.
- Effective time management and organizational skills to manage priorities and tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with ArcGIS software or other geospatial technology.
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, English, journalism, technical writing, or a related field.

Base salary range of $76,960 to $128,544 USD
