Job Description
The role involves developing, testing, and supporting indoor GIS software features across desktop, web, and mobile platforms, collaborating with product teams to define requirements, and demonstrating capabilities to users, all within an environment that promotes professional growth and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product Owners and Managers to establish software backlog needs, priorities, and release themes across ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, web, and mobile applications
- Create and execute test plans, manage testing datasets, and certify software readiness for release
- Author and review user documentation for accuracy and usability
- Write Scrum user stories and develop mockups to define new feature capabilities
- Demonstrate software features at stakeholder meetings and incorporate feedback into product backlogs
- Support software demonstrations and answer user questions at conferences
- Coordinate with software engineers on acceptance criteria for new features
- Develop automated tests using Python
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of work experience in a related field such as software development, GIS, IT, architecture, or AEC.
- Experience with Esri products such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, and/or ArcGIS Online.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, information systems, IT, geography, computer science, or a STEM-related field.
- Ability to create and execute test plans that cover acceptance, N-path, and ad hoc testing, and to build and manage testing datasets, perform regression testing, and certify software before release.
- Experience authoring and reviewing user guide documentation for accuracy, completeness, and usability.
- Experience authoring Scrum user stories and defining mockups of rich user experiences to guide software development.
- Ability to demonstrate software capabilities at iteration and stakeholder review meetings and capture feedback into product backlogs.
- Experience supporting the product at conferences such as the Esri User Conference, including answering user questions and demonstrating software capabilities via presentations and individual interactions.
- Ability to serve as a point of contact and collaborate with software engineers on acceptance criteria for features being developed.
- Experience creating automated tests using Python.
- Ability to serve as a technical point of contact to practice teams, solution engineers, and users.
