Job Description
The Esri Instructor position involves utilizing teaching skills and GIS expertise to deliver training programs on ArcGIS software, enhancing user proficiency and promoting sustainable GIS workflows across various industries. The role includes developing engaging training content, addressing skill gaps, and collaborating with organizations to expand the use of GIS technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training programs in various formats to enhance user proficiency in ArcGIS software.
- Identify and address skill gaps through targeted training sessions and workshops.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to users, answering questions and helping overcome challenges.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their business processes and provide guidance on sustainable GIS workflows.
- Deliver workshops and training sessions on sustainable GIS workflows.
- Promote the adoption of ArcGIS across customer groups and identify potential use cases.
- Develop and deliver training workshops to showcase ArcGIS capabilities.
- Create compelling narratives and visualizations to communicate the impact of GIS.
- Collaborate with content development teams to create engaging content like case studies.
- Present the value of GIS to customers and stay informed about industry trends.
Requirements
- 8 years of professional experience leveraging Esri's software capabilities.
- 5 years of experience applying GIS principles and technology in support of the defense and intelligence community.
- 2 years of professional experience in classroom facilitation and instructional delivery.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities while prioritizing student needs.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to incorporate feedback to continuously improve instructional delivery and course materials.
- Proven ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- US citizenship and willingness to obtain a security clearance.
- 20% travel time within the year to support an average of 10-15 onsite customer training sessions per year.
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Engineering, Information Science or related field.

Compensation/salary range: 83,200 - 130,000 USD
