Job Description
A Landscape Technician responsible for maintaining and developing landscapes and urban forests through planting, pruning, irrigation repair, and landscape project management, requiring extensive plant knowledge and hands-on skills in landscaping and irrigation systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain landscapes by blowing leaves, debris, and trimming trees, shrubs, and groundcovers
- Perform weed mitigation and interior plant care
- Assess, repair, and maintain irrigation systems
- Prune and shape trees and shrubs naturally
- Plant shrubs and groundcovers
- Identify landscape issues and report needs
- Manage and coordinate landscape projects from start to finish
Requirements
- Four years of experience in the landscape industry
- Three years of irrigation experience
- Horticulture knowledge
- Experience with hand tools such as shovels, pruners, hand saws, and power tools including blowers, chain saws, line trimmers
- Capable of doing extensive walking, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds by applying proper body mechanics
- Effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Self-motivated and able to take direction and follow through
- Possess and utilize good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- A valid California driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed)
- High school diploma or equivalent
