Job Description
A GIS subject matter expert responsible for advising clients on complex spatial analysis solutions using Esri technology, supporting sales efforts, demonstrating GIS capabilities, and providing technical expertise to state and local government customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise customers on complex GIS solutions and demonstrate their value
- Build relationships and support sales strategies for Esri software and solutions
- Become a subject matter expert in GIS, particularly ArcGIS, and in government sectors
- Present technical demonstrations and communicate GIS solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
- Proactively craft and propose GIS solutions that address customer challenges and align with their business needs
Requirements
- 3 years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
- 1 year of experience working in or supporting state or local government
- Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, virtualization, cloud computing
- Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
- Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
- Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and environments including Microsoft Azure or AWS
- Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50% of the time

- Bachelor’s degree in geography, computer science, or a related field
