Job Description
A Senior Lead Accountant responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulations, supporting audits, and leading accounting processes and team development within a corporate finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the month and year-end close process for all domestic entities, ensuring accurate financial statements and compliance with GAAP and regulations
- Conduct monthly close functions including reviewing and posting general ledger entries and reconciliations
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions, reporting, and allocations
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to best practices
- Support and implement complex accounting issues, providing technical guidance and recommendations
- Collaborate with FP&A to communicate transactions impacting results and forecasts
- Support operational areas affecting domestic accounting activities such as Accounts Payable and asset management
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Drive process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy of accounting functions
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of prior experience in public accounting or a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial consolidation.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to various levels of the organization.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification that meets the California CPA eligibility requirements.
- Ability to support and ensure compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulations.
- Experience supporting external audits for all entities.
- Experience conducting month and year-end close processes for all domestic entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
- Experience reviewing and posting general ledger entries, reviewing monthly reconciliations, and supporting management reporting analysis.
- Experience developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Experience supporting and implementing complex accounting issues and transactions, providing technical guidance and recommendations.
- Experience interacting with FP&A and effectively communicating transactions impacting results and forecasts, including short-range outlooks, and annual and long-range plan development processes.
- Experience supporting operational areas such as Accounts Payable, Assets, and other transactional accounting functions.
- Experience managing, mentoring, and developing a team of accounting professionals, providing feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities.
- Proficiency in large ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Ability to support process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy of the accounting function.

Base salary range of $76,960 to $127,920 USD
