Job Description
A Senior Lead Accountant responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with GAAP and regulations, supporting audits, and leading a team within the Corporate Accounting department at Esri's headquarters in Redlands, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulations for all entities.
- Support the month and year-end close process, including reviewing and posting general ledger entries.
- Conduct monthly reconciliations and support management reporting analysis.
- Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Support and implement complex accounting transactions and provide technical guidance.
- Interact with FP&A to communicate transactions impacting results and forecasts.
- Manage operational accounting activities such as accounts payable and asset management.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Drive process improvements and automation within the accounting function.
Requirements
- Eight (8) years of prior experience in public accounting or a similar position.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial consolidation.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial statements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to various levels of the organization.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUPS and pivot tables.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or in a related field with an Accounting Certificate or qualification that meets the California CPA eligibility requirements.
- Ability to support the month and year-end close process for all domestic entities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial statements and compliance with local GAAP, laws, and regulations.
- Ability to conduct monthly close functions such as reviewing and posting general ledger entries, reviewing monthly reconciliations, and supporting management reporting analysis.
- Ability to ensure quality control over financial transactions, financial reporting, and monthly allocations.
- Ability to develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures and ensure adherence to best practices.
- Ability to support and implement complex accounting issues and transactions and provide technical guidance and recommendations.
- Ability to interact closely with FP&A and effectively communicate transactions that impact results and forecasts, including short-range outlooks, and annual and long-range plan development processes.
- Ability to support operational areas that impact domestic accounting activities such as Accounts Payable, Assets, and other transactional functions.
- Experience leading, mentoring, and developing team members.

Base salary range of $76,960 to $127,920 USD
